Plaine products review

A year before starting this blog, I decided to stop using personal care products that have SLS ( Sodium Laureth Sulfate) , silicone or paraben … I searched the internet daily and tried making  my own shampoo .

I’ve nearly tried everything from Indian Ayurvedic powders to Tunisian Clay . Then, I decided to buy shea moisture’s hibiscus and coconut shampoo which I fell in love with. But, it was sold in plastic bottle. At that time, I was looking for a chemical free shampoo that would make my hair look better since it has always been dry and shea moisture’s did a great job ! The fact that it came in a plastic bottle disappointed me : what’s the point of buying Eco-friendly personal care products when I’d be left with tons of non-recyclable plastic containers ?

Plaine products

” If you wouldn’t eat it, don’t put it on your

skin!”

I totally agree with this statement and I would add : if it comes in a plastic packaging it’s not solving the problem. It’s easy to find non-toxic beauty products. But, it’s hard to reduce plastic waste. Another alternative is glass containers or aluminum bottles which are easily recyclable and strong enough to survive several trips.

By 2050, there will be more plastic than fish in the world’s ocean. Therefore, Plaine products decided to use aluminum returnable , refillable and reusable containers for their shampoo, conditioner and body wash ! In fact, after finishing your first bottle, you can order a another one and return the empty bottle to Plaine products, they would sterilize it and reuse it.

Plaine products shampoo & conditioner:

I have been using plaine products’ shampoo and conditioner twice a week for about a month. I have medium length curly hair that would be dry if I don’t apply a moisturizing mask before showering or a hair serum before drying it. Since I’ve used these products, my hair looks more hydrated and my curls are well defined ! Yay ! I can’t be happier !

The conditioner’s ingredients: Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Vegetable Emulsifiers and Glycerin, Alpha Hydroxy Acids from Sugarcane and Fruit Extracts of Bilberry and Olive. As I mentioned above, all the ingredients are natural, vegan and non-GMO .Aloe Vera is the main ingredient. Plaine products are not tested on animals and are kid friendly. Although some might find the products strong-smelling, I absolutely love their refreshing smell. Every time I take a shower, I feel like I’m walking in a rosemary field. The first time I opened one of the bottles, I could tell from the smell it has no artificial ingredients .

Plaine products’ body wash :

Skin is our largest organ and it only takes 26 seconds for the chemicals in our personal care products to enter our bloodstream which is the reason I highly recommend that you this use organic, chemical free body wash which keeps my skin hydrated without having to apply a body lotion

Hello! I found out about Plaine’s a bit ago, so I was excited to see your review! I’ve been on the hunt for a truly natural shampoo that doesn’t come in a plastic container for SO long. But I thought the price for the full shampoo was prohibitive. How long does one bottle last for you?

    Thanks

Hello ! I’m glad you found my review, I’ve been using it for a month. But, I read the reviews on their website and someone said it lasts 4 months which makes sense since you need a small amount to wash your hair.
